BROD and Factcheck.bg launched a strategic partnership to combat disinformation

The Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory of Digital Media (BROD) and Factcheck.bg have officially launched a strategic partnership after signing a memorandum of understanding to enhance efforts against disinformation in the region.
The partnership integrates Factcheck.bg's specialized verification work into the broader framework of BROD – the regional hub of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO).
BROD brings together researchers, media literacy experts, and media outlets to detect and analyze disinformation in Bulgaria and Romania. The inclusion of Factcheck.bg, an initiative of the Association of European Journalists-Bulgaria, strengthens this alliance by adding its established expertise in verifying claims on topics of public interest.
Factcheck.bg is a European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) verified member and a member of the Bulgarian Coalition Against Disinformation. It is Bulgaria’s sole platform dedicated exclusively to fact-checking, the first in Bulgaria to be certified by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and becomes the first organization to join BROD's new affiliate partnership program. This collaboration signals the further expansion of the BROD network, reinforcing its community of experts and its mission to create a healthier information environment.
