Sofia Information Integrity Forum gathered the Bulgarian community against misinformation.
Dana Spinant, Director-General, Directorate-General for Communication, European Commission, Yordanka Chobanova, Head, European Commission Representation to Bulgaria, Atanas Zapryanov, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria,Todor Galev, Director of Research, Center for the Study of Democracy, Dimitar Vatsov, President, HSS Foundation - Sofia, Keith Peter Kiely, GATE Institute, SU, Aleksander Kyosev from SU opened the event. Mark Galeotti, from Mayak Intelligence, Susanne Spahn, Political Scientist, Historian and Journalist, Andy Carvin, DFRLab, Neville Bolt from Director of the King's Centre for Strategic Communications (KCSC), and Miroslav Sazdovski were the key note speakers.
Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory of Digital Media (BROD) was organised of two of the tracks about Media Literacy: Passport to the Future, where partners of BROD Andy Stoycheff, NTCenter, Cristina Lupu, Center for Independent Journalism, Laura Burtan, Funky Citizens presented their work, as well as Angel Georgiev, Sindeo, Iglika Ivanova, Media Literacy Coalition and Keith Kiely, GATE, Garvan Walshe, Article7, Joanna Elmy, Toest. Moderator was Irina Nedeva, AEJ.
BROD and GATE closed the event with two presentations of Keith Kiely and Boyan Dafov. Let us embrace this forum as an opportunity—not only to dissect the pressing issues at hand but also to cultivate a robust community dedicated to the principles of truth and integrity, said Keith Kiely from BROD.
