The Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services of the Republic of North Macedonia has shared the results of the recent Research on Media Literacy among First and Second Year Students in Secondary Education. This significant research effort, initiated and financed by AAVMS, comes as part of North Macedonia's ongoing educational reform aimed at integrating media literacy into the national curriculum.

To maximise the impact of these findings, AAVMS has partnered with the USAID-funded media literacy project "Youth Think," implemented by IREX. This collaboration includes organisations such as the Macedonian Media Institute, the Institute for Communication Studies, and the Youth Educational Forum, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The research results, available in Macedonian, English, and Albanian, provide valuable insights into the current state of media literacy among young students and highlight areas for future development. We invite educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to access and review the full report.

AAVMS plans on repeating the research in the coming years to measure progress.
