Dr. Keith Keily from the Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory of Digital Media BROD moderated a session and presented a paper at the traditional Media Days in Dubrovnik 2023. Their sixteenth edition followed the meeting of the European Digital Media Observatory EDMO in the Croatian Adriatic city.

The conference, organised by the University of Dubrovnik and the local ADMO Digital Media Observatory, has established itself as one of the leading in the Western Balkans. It opened with a discussion on priorities and perspectives in disinformation research. The European Commission's Director for Strategy and Corporate Communication, Lene Naesager, presented information on the Digital Services Act, the proposed Artificial Intelligence Directive and the Strengthened Code of Practice on Disinformation. Prof. Claes de Vrese from the University of Amsterdam, Iva Nenadic from the University of Zagreb, Matej Gjurkovic from TakeLab FER and Denis Teyssou from AFP's Medialab commented on the perspectives under the moderation of Barbara Peranic, PR of the European Parliament Representation in Croatia.

Guest speakers were prof. Samantha Bradshaw and prof. Claes de Vreese. The conference covered a wide range of topics: the role of platforms in spreading misinformation, the impact of misinformation on public opinion and behaviour, the use of technology in the fight against misinformation.
