Up to GATE: Technology, Big Data & Beyond. Open Up for Innovation with a panel on Disinformation

The Bulgarian-Romanian Digital Media Observatory BROD, coordinated by the GATE Institute, will present the special panel EVALUATING THE CODE OF PRACTICE (COP) ON DISINFORMATION IN BULGARIA AND ROMANIA - MEASURING COMPLIANCE, MAPPING CHALLENGES AND SETTING EXPECTATIONS, on 6th December at 13:30, at 5, "James Bourchier" Blvd. The working language is English.
It is a part of GATE Institute Grand Opening of new building and to its annual event “Up to GATE: Technology, Big Data & Beyond. Open Up for Innovation” which will take place on 5 – 6 December 2023.
The main guests of disinfo panel will be Paulo Cesarini, Programme Director of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) and Paula Gori from EDMO, as well as Kalina Boncheva from the University of Sheffield and the EDMO Advisory Council. We will be pleased to share more about the work of of the Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory of Digital Media (BROD), thanks to Madelina Botan from Școala Naţională de Studii Politice și Administrative (SNSPA), and Todor Galev from the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) and Maria Koleva from the Bulgarian National Television (BNT). The panel will be moderated by Keith Kiely, Experienced Researcher at GATE and Scientific Coordinator of BROD.
The official ceremony of the unveiling of the new building will be on 5 December 2023 at 10:00, at 5, "James Bourchier" Blvd. (The “Lozenets” Campus of Sofia University). The annual event will start at 13:00.
Organised jointly by GATE Institute, Bulgaria, Chalmers University of Technology and Chalmers Industry Technique, Sweden, the forum will comprise keynotes by distinguished experts and business leaders in the field of Data and AI, as well as thematic panels on Urban Digital Twins, Digital Health, Disinformation and GATE initiatives as a NATO test centre.
