Two BROD researchers are part of the EDMO Expert Group on Structural Indicators for the Code of Practice on Disinformation

Raluca Buturoiu and Nicoleta Corbu, two Romanian researchers and professors from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), partner in the Bulgarian-Romanian Observatory of Digital Media (BROD), were selected as Experts within the EDMO Expert Group on Structural Indicators for the Code of Practice on Disinformation. 

Following a public call for expressions of interest, the Policy Research and Analysis stream of the European Digital Media Observatory, coordinated by the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom at the European University Institute, selected a group of experts to contribute, on a voluntary basis, to the process of developing a methodology for Structural Indicators linked to the Code of Practice on Disinformation. The Group is composed of experts with combined expertise in computational methods, platform data analysis, network analysis, audience studies, and excellent familiarity with EU policies against disinformation, experience in policy assessment and in measuring policy effectiveness.

The initial mandate of the Expert Group is planned for the period April-October 2023, with a possible extension for another six months.

The aim of the Group in the first mandate will be (1) to reflect on the EDMO proposal for Structural Indicators methodology; and (2) to advise on possible complementary and alternative approaches.

EDMO Policy Research and Analysis task is coordinated by Elda Brogi, EUI Part-time Professor and Scientific Coordinator of CMPF.
